A project technician is required for immediate start. As a project technician you will provide technical expertise on all road related matters to the project manager and engineer to undertake specific assignments.
The successful candidate will be expected to complete a number of tasks and hold a number of responsibilities, including:
- Assisting the transport teams in delivering a wide range of projects in the West Lothian area.
- Providing technical assistance and support to the team on a daily basis.
- Undertaking investigations of customer complaints on road related matters and reporting to and design solutions where appropriate.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets.
- Project design through to implementation.
- Liaising with public bodies, elected members and consultancies on road related matters.
- Site supervision to ensure high standards of workmanship. Dealing with issues when they arise on site.
- Preparation of work orders.
- Complying with all health and safety related standards and ensuring that all work is carried out within the standards.
- Supervising road works. In order to carry out this role effectively, the successful candidate will have:
- Well developed interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of civil and transportation engineering techniques.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Educated to HND level in civil engineering or appropriate. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on a range of dynamic projects and to gain valuable experience in the civil and transportation engineering sectors.
