FPSG's client, a market leader in it's field are currently seeking a New Software Product Manager to work in their R&D Department based in Edinburgh
ROLE OVERVIEW
This role will take responsibility for the management and delivery of new software my client is trialing within their R&D technology department.
MAIN DUTIES
Co-ordinate the activities of internal departments to ensure that all necessary information and knowledge is transferred to these departments prior to release.
Liaise with Project Support and Account Managers to ensure that clients have all necessary information and knowledge prior to release.
Select and evaluate hardware products to include in its portfolio.
Manage the selection and introduction of new products into Zonal.
Manage and develop relationships with key 3rd party suppliers.
Set up systems to monitor performance of products in the field and take actions to improve or replace where necessary.
Carry out end of life of products; gain board agreement, inform relevant departments, support customers and manage last time buy of end of life products and components.
Coordinate the development and introduction of new hardware and software.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Experience of product introduction and end of life procedures in an R&D department.
Experience of developing or project managing hardware products in a hardware & software product environment.
Understanding and experience of software development and release lifecycle.
A technical background which encompasses both hardware and software knowledge.
