Job Description

Change Recruitment Group is currently working with a large and highly successful financial services company based in the city centre, to recruit a facilities manager on a 6 month fixed term contract. Please be aware that this role involves management of the hard facilities aspect - we are looking for someone with a background in engineering or architecture with practical hands on facilities experience. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well respected organisation and to get your teeth into a challenging role.

Working on a 6 month contract, your general remit will be to develop and implement strategies and processes to maximize the safe, effective and efficient utilisation of facility assets. You will also be responsible for managing the staff, financial and operational resources of the onsite team.

Your role will be varied and will cover everything from supervising the admin functions using both external vendors and internal staff; developing short and long term facility utilisation; administering costs with maintaining the facility which will involve developing and working within the annual budget; overseeing maintenance including exterior, interior, preventative maintenance and housekeeping; and managing the safety, security and mail operations. As you can see, this role is intense and there will be a lot to do in 6 months and it is therefore vital that you have worked in a similar position.

We are ideally looking for someone with a degree, or equivalent experience, in business, administration or a technical area such as engineering or architecture. You are required to have a driving license and we are ideally looking for someone with their CFM or CPM. You will be proficient in building construction and maintenance, and will be equally comfortable working on a computer and dealing with the administrative elements of the role. You will be an independent thinker who has excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have the ability to maintain a professional image and negotiate contracts confidently and confidentially.
