Job Description

One of Edinburgh\' s leading organisations are presently looking to add an assistant accountant to its team on a long term contractual basis. Based in the heart of Edinburgh the role will last for a minimum 9 month period with the view to moving permanent dependant on performance. Despite the down turning market my client has continued to grow its team and is now in a position to add an addition body to its department.

Candidates must come from a strong accounts background and be willing to start the role initially temporary with the view to this moving permanent based on performance and team fit.

Duties of the role will include;

• Production of consolidated monthly management accounts

• Preparing month end journals

• Preparation of prepayments and accruals

• Calculation of intercompany recharges

• Maintenance of the fixed asset registers

• Preparation of multiple reconciliation packs at month end

• Releasing payments to customers using Cheque and BACS

• Working with other areas of the business to provide business commentary on variance analysis

• Ad hoc duties as required

This position will ideally suit an applicant that has come from a financial services background or large blue chip organisation due to the nature of the duties and responsibilities involved. Applicants will be expected do demonstrate a strong understanding of all elements of the role profile to be considered for this role. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must and the ability to work in a fast paced and challenging but rewarding environment.
