| THE ROLE Vessel Superintendent Location: Aberdeen Salary:Negotiable Benefits Package: Employment:Permanent THE COMPANY Our Client is a Subsea Engineering Company operating in the North sea and international waters. JOB DESCRIPTION Based in the Aberdeen office, you will have the desire and commitment to work with specialist vessels and ensure your allocated vessels remain safe, operationally ready and continue to be an industry leader at all times. You will become the vessel point of contact within the office regarding technical support and be adept at producing high quality and suitably detailed written reports both in WORD and EXCEL, additionally you will have the ability to generate detailed Scopes of Work for Contractor and Shipyard tendering purposes. You will be competent in all aspects of Project Management JOB SPECIFICATION Common focal point for all vessel operational issues. Responsible for the effective and safe technical operation of the vessels under your remit. Responsible for all operational and maintenance issues of specified company vessels. Ensuring viability and cost of any vessel maintenance or modification activity. Scheduling of repairs and maintenance activities. Prepare budgets and schedules for vessel modifications and refits. Adhering to approved budgets and schedules for vessel modifications and refits. Mentor and encourage development of allocated Assistant Vessel Superintendents. Work as a team member and / or team leader, encouraging Communications. Ensure risks and impacts of any changes are documented. Ensure changes are managed effectively and in line with relevant procedures. Act as a point of contact with projects to provide advice concerning: Vessel modifications. Liaise with vessels to ensure: Maintenance is being carried out to required company standards.Adequate technical advice is available That adequate spares are available: Monitor status of 3rd party suppliers to ensure timely forwarding of critical spares and equipment Monitor and advise on shipboard management performance Project management of Dry-dockings and assigned projects: Liaise with vessel management and contractors to ensure comprehensive dry-docking workscopes Liaise jointly with Planned Maintenance and Certification Engineer regarding Classification Societies and Flag State Authorities to ensure:Those vessel certification requirements remain in order Liaise with the FMS Administrator to: Comprehend & comply with the Company Fleet Management System (FMS). Ensure the accuracy of the technical specifications / documentation within the Fleet Management System. Provide new and updated procedures that reflect operational practices. Comply with the OAD Business Management System (BMS). Develop MP5 within Department, Control Revision Requests in Consultation with MP5 Manager. Compile Vessel Visit / Weekly Reports. Be fully aware of current and future vessel operational requirements. Request Regular CAPEX & Major Repair CAPEX within Department.. Carry out Appraisals on Technical Personnel in Consultation with Fleet Technical Manager. Liaise with Contracts & Legal Department on contractual / Insurance Issues: Instigate and collate insurance claims. Liaise with appropriate vessel specific Safety Superintendent. Ensure PUWER (Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations) and LOLER (Lifting Operations & lifting Equipment Regulations) are adhered on allocated vessels and throughout Company fleet. Encourage and mentor Support Engineer: Offering guidance: Planning the individuals development. Identifying individuals needs. Understudy Senior Technical Superintendent.
