Tester / Co-ordinator

Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

THE COMPANY

An expanding innovative web development organisation and market leader in it's field are looking for a Tester/Co-ordinator to be part of their team.

You would be working in a close knit team with the value for a productive work/life balance.

The company has a casual dress policy so the culture fit into the organisation and team is crucial to this role.

ROLE EXPERIENCE

It is an emerging and important role within the company, and you would be expected to provide support to the Operations team in:

Release test coordination
Providing initial analysis of incoming issues and queries from the live website to determine causes and likely recommendations for action
Testing individual ad-hoc fixed issues as they are released to the live website
Testing ad-hoc fixed live issues for closure after formal releases updates to ensure they have been included
Planning, running and analysing the output from website performance tests, providing recommendations on areas of concern and how they may be tackled
Taking part in formal testing cycles as required
Providing reports to the operations manager and test manager

Required skills
Will have worked as a tester for at least 3 projects, specifically within a web environment
Web application performance testing
Understanding of databases and SQL queries
Understanding of formal testing processes
Understanding of defect management processes
Able to work with basic direction singularly and within a team
Adaptable to changing requirements
Good eye for detail
Good communication skills

Desirable: Understanding of
web languages
web page design and structure
knowledge of coding languages
test automation experience
understanding and use of macros within Word/Excel for data manipulation
ISEB foundation testing certification
