A civil project engineer is required to work on a range of projects in Edinburgh. As a civil project engineer the successful candidate will work with a large multi-national consultancy on a variety of stimulating projects. The client requires a civil project engineer to assist from initial inception of projects through to providing technical support to aid progression of projects through the planning and construction phases.
The role will involve hands-on civil engineering work at the design stage of infrastructure, roads and drainage for a range of residential, commercial and retail projects in both the public and private sector. This role will be primarily office based however the successful candidate will also be expected to carry out work on site.If successful youwill work with a small team of assistant engineers and technicians.
The role will involve a number of duties and responsibilities which include:
- Communicating with key clients and local authorities
- Arranging works orders and the preparation of reports.
- Liaising with design team members and attending design meetings.
- Project manager duties to ensure an optimum level of standards is maintained throughout the programme.
- On site attendance as required.
As a civil project engineer the you will be expected to hold a number of key skills in order to carry out their duties:
- Experienced in design and detailingof infrastructure works on a range of commercial, residential and retail projects.
- SW and FW drainage detail and design.
- SUDS.
- Ability to prepare desk studies and site studies including utility services and mining.
- Hold a relevant degree in a related discipline.
- Experience working with Civil 3D, MX, Microdrainage software.
- Conversant in AutoCAD.
- Sound knowledge of all MS office software.
- Chartered or working towards a chartered status.
