The role will include the procurement of passenger transport services for council services, operation of the in-house bus fleet, direction of staff and financial control to ensure that operations remain within budget limits set by the Council for public transport. The business value of the department is £8.5m for the year 2007/8 and in-house operations resources comprise 40 buses, 40 drivers and 130 Passenger Escorts.
Principal Duties:
Oversee the operations of the department. Ensure compliance with procurement and other legislation. Advise both internal clients and external partners of service developments and the financial effect of any changes. Plan expenditure, monitor and manage revenue budgets for public transport expenditure and fleet operations. Provide advise to Council members.
