CV Presentation
Employers read a great many CVs and they all prefer reading CVs which are well presented and free from clutter. Some people use very elaborate CV designs in order to try and impress, however, this is often counterproductive and has the opposite effect. The same applies to using different coloured paper. Black font on plain white, or near white paper is often the best choice. You should always use good quality paper.
One reason for not overcomplicating the format is because it can detract from the real subject matter (i.e. you and your skills), additionally if you choose a more personalised style which you love there is no guarantee that the employer will share the same tastes as you. Uncomplicated and professional-looking is often the best choice.
Style and format are somewhat subjective but it is usually recommended not to overcomplicate matters on CV format, and where possible use an uncomplicated yet stylish and professional looking style.
